Wrongful Death Medical Malpractice Case
The Firm, along with another law firm with whom we joint ventured the case, successfully resolved a medical practice case for a family as a result of the tragic death of an 8-year-old child. The terms of the settlement were confidential.
The case was brought against a hospital in South Texas, where the child had presented with flu-like symptoms. Resting comfortably, with no signs of distress after IV fluids started, the child went into seizure-like activity following the administering of a pressurized IV bag in a manner that caused air to enter the child’s veins, causing her to suffer a fatal venous air embolism.
